Membership Structure
Continuing Professional Development
As with all professional bodies, members will have to keep themselves up-to-date. This will involve attending lectures, seminars, conferences, courses etc, the total of credits being measured over a 3-year period.
How are Credits earned?
Credits are earned by attending:
1 - Activities organised by the GCMA:
Initial Allocation of credits for CPD
| GCMA Activity | Length of time | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| Training Course | 5 days | 60 |
| Conference | 3 days | 40 |
| Seminars | 1 day | 10 |
| Seminars | ½ day | 5 |
| Regional Meetings | ½ day | 5 |
| BNU | 1 Module | 30 |
2 - Activities covering relevant topics organised by other Bodies: members planning to attend any activity should contact GCMA HQ, who will satisfy themselves that allocating CDP credits is justified.
Proof of Attendance
GCMA Activities: event organisers will notify HQ of the names of all attendees
Other activities: members may download a Credit Claim Form for signing on the day of the event as proof of attendance.
Who will keep the record of credits earned?
It is the responsibility of the individual member to keep an accurate record of his/her attendance at qualifying events. A CPD Record sheet is downloadable from the Education pages of the website and must be submitted to HQ by the end of September each year. The agreed total will appear on the member's annual subscription renewal.
CPD Topics
Members should always attend events where the topics are appropriate and they will learn something useful.
