Members Helpline
The GCMA Helpline for members has been in operation for several years now and is in use every day – including weekends. It is usually the first port of call when Golf Club Managers/Secretaries need help and advice.
The Helpline is set up in the office of Brian Butler, the GCMA Health & Safety and Employment Adviser. It is linked to HQ, so when Brian is not in his office the calls are automatically transferred to a person in the office rather than a pre-recorded message. All staff in HQ have access to a vast library of documents on health & safety and employment law, and can e-mail appropriate information if required. The chances are that these documents might well help to resolve the query.
Members can log-in and find the Helpline telephone number on the drop-down menu from the library tab, see 'H & S and Employment documents written by Brian Butler'.
But what about out-of-hours?
Have you had the opportunity to look at the following key websites?
1) Health & Safety Matters:
a) Joint GCMA & BIGGA Safety Management System (SMS)
One of the many benefits of membership of the GCMA is free access to the Library and, of course, the SMS. Once you have registered with your club’s e-mail address you are able to download the six Risk Profiles of the key areas of the Golf Club and almost 100 Risk Assessments, all of which are designed specifically for the golf industry.
