Closing date: 26th November 2021

King’s Lynn is an ambitious, forward thinking and well financed members club. The Club has a desire to reach and secure a place in the top 100 of clubs in England.  We are seeking a General Manager who will share those ambitions and be key in both formulating and delivering the club’s business plan.

The Club moved to its present idyllic location in 1975. The course was the first to be designed by the acclaimed Peter Alliss/Dave Thomas partnership and has matured into the magnificent challenge now considered by golfers and golf writers alike to be one of the finest and most scenic inland courses in East Anglia. The 18 hole par 72 tree lined course is very different to the original course sited in nearby Leziate and opened in 1923.  The Club are excited to be celebrating its centenary in a year’s time.

These are exciting times at King’s Lynn with a potential plan to add a further 9 holes designed by the renowned Environmentally Sensitive course designer, Scott Macpherson.

Key qualities of the successful candidate:
  • An inspiring leader, able to manage through an empowered leadership team.
  • Able to engage, motivate and carry the ‘hearts and minds’ of all staff.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, linked with strategic planning skills.
  • High personal drive and ambition for career growth.
  • Proven organisational and administrative skills, including a high level of IT literacy.
  • A thorough understanding of the operational and governance demands of a private members golf club.
  • An accomplished Manager with a proven record as a golf club manager.
  • First class communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The successful candidate will leverage their proven commercial and financial acumen to optimise existing business operations, and deliver further growth of the club.

  • Lead the whole team to enhance the experience of members and visitors.
  • Continue to grow revenues at the club.
