The Club:

Ashburnham Golf Club, established in 1894, is a premier championship members’ club in Carmarthenshire.  The course was designed by JH Taylor and has hosted various amateur and professional events during its history including the PGA Championship. The Club is renowned for a friendly atmosphere and well-maintained greens.

The Vacancy:

Due to retirement the Club is looking to appoint a new Club Manager to ensure that it continues to run efficiently and generate revenues for the future development of the Club and its facilities. The Club is looking to appoint an innovative and organised individual, with a high level of attention to detail. Reporting to the Chairman of The Board, this person will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Club.

The Role:

The personal skills and characteristics of the successful candidate will include;

  • Strong and pro-active leader with proven management, organisational and administrative skills and good knowledge of IT systems,
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate both internally and externally, and relate to people of all backgrounds, Ability to command respect and offer high standards of integrity and diplomacy along with common sense and a good sense of humour,
  • Able to ensure a high level of member satisfaction and the smooth running of the Club and all its facilities throughout the golfing year,
  • A comprehensive understanding of all financial matters,
  • Pro-active commercial management to manage member recruitment, visitor revenue and other business opportunities,
  • Ability to manage clubhouse facilities.
  • A willingness and commitment to work flexible hours including some evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

Remuneration:

The remuneration package will be negotiable and commensurate with the successful candidate’s level of responsibility and experience.
