The Club:

Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club, a tranquil heathland/woodland course designed by Harry S. Colt is situated in the heart of the New Forest National Park and  is a busy private members club with a full diary of members competitions and matches which has resulted in a vacancy arising for a Golf & Membership Operations Co-ordinator.

The Role:

We are currently seeking a Golf & Membership Operations Co-ordinator to help provide a high-quality experience for our full membership and to our visiting guests. The Golf & Membership Operations Co-ordinator, reporting to the Club Manager will be in regular liaison with the Handicaps and Competitions Committee, providing all necessary administrative duties for the successful running of competitions and golf events. We welcome a significant number of societies and visitors to the club, as well as hosting top-quality golf events each year.

The Candidate:

The Golf & Membership Operations Co-ordinator will provide assistance to the Club Manager and the various Heads of Department with the running and administration of member golf competitions and be responsible for maintaining handicaps under the WHS. In addition, you will be responsible for the administration duties arising from membership queries and new member on-boarding.

Key Responsibilities:

As is the case with a busy members club, duties will vary daily, but will include, although won’t be limited to:

  • Must possess a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the game of golf, its competitive formats, and traditions within a private members club.
  • Assist as a point of contact for the organisation, administration, and accurate recording of all club and Open competitions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the administration and accurate recording of all playing member handicaps through the WHS Platform.
  • Take ownership for the organisation, administration, and accounting of a full fixture list of matches and competitions at the Club. This includes all matches played between Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club and other clubs, both near and far.
  • Provide full administrative support for all Open competitions held at the Club. The Golf & Membership Operations Co-ordinator will have responsibility of the administrative running of these events from start to finish.
  • Be able to develop relationships with other local golf clubs when arranging future fixtures.
  • Provide administration support in running The Brokenhurst Stag – a prestigious knock out competition for club scratch teams.
  • Assist the Handicaps and Competitions Committee with communicating and implementing policies relevant to the efficient running of events at the club.
  • Support the General Manager and Heads of Department with a range of office duties to ensure the smooth running of the club administration.
  • Experience with industry specific golf administration software is highly desirable. The Club operates Intelligent Golf.
  • Provide support and input into the Club’s marketing and maintaining/updating the Club website.
  • Supporting the club’s social media output will be a part of this role so a knowledge of the main social media platforms is also desirable.
  • Due to the nature of weekend competitive play at the club, a flexible approach towards evening and weekend work at times is essential.

  • Have a proficient in the use of IT.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of the game of golf, ideally with a detailed knowledge of the World Handicap System.
  • Be organised and able to demonstrate attention to detail at all times.
