At the GCMA AGM in April, changes were agreed to the constitution of the Benevolent Fund, intended to enable the fund to be more accessible to provide help to more members of the association.
The changes were agreed, but the existence of the fund, and what it can be used for, are still not widely known by members of the association.
We are intending to change that, and this email is the start of that process.
The fund’s objective is the relief of hardship among distressed members of the Association and the dependents of deceased members of the Association. With this in mind below are the sort of applications that might be considered, but bear in mind that to fit the criteria you must:
a. Be unable to fully fund the request yourself.
b. Be applying for something that would not usually be funded by the state.
c. Have not received an award from us in the preceding 12 months.
d. Have not had more than three successful applications.

Further details about the fund and application details can be found via the link below.
We all know that one of the major benefits of being a member of a Members Association is the support you get from your fellow members and colleagues, however sometimes the assistance of a financial benefit can help you through troubled times; the benevolent fund is here to help.
