The industry has evolved over the past 10 years and women like Chloe Boissel-Marshall have been at the forefront of that change.
When Chloe Boissel-Marshall was named Manager of the Year at the 2025 GCMA Awards, it represented more than an individual honour for the Tidworth Garrison GM.
On a night when women also prevailed in the Newcomer of the Year and Support Manager of the Year categories, Chloe’s achievement alluded to a wider shift taking place across club management and the broader golf industry.
Since arriving at Tidworth Garrison Golf Club in late 2023, Chloe has overseen a period of significant change. A modernisation of operations, an openness to new technologies and a renewed focus on community have helped strengthen the club’s identity while respecting its century-long heritage.
That forward-looking mindset aligned closely with the theme of the Golf Club Management Conference & Exhibition, where she received the award in front of her peers in November.
For Chloe, her journey into club management has not always come with the support structures that are now more commonplace. Early in her career, she often found herself navigating the industry alone, at a time when female representation in management was far less visible.

“In the early stages of my career, I didn’t have a mentor — and looking back now I really felt the absence of that guidance and reassurance,” she said. “I had to learn through experience and find my own footing.
“I remember attending regional meetings and being the only woman in the room. Thankfully, the industry has evolved significantly over the past decade. Today, we have a growing network of talented women in club management, and a support system that’s stronger than ever. It’s inspiring to see — and be part of — that change.”
At Tidworth, that evolving perspective has translated into a club culture that prioritises inclusivity, collaboration and enjoyment, with Chloe playing a central role in shaping the environment alongside her team.
“Tidworth is friendly, inclusive, welcoming — and fun! My role, along with the wider team, is to support and enhance that culture by working closely with our Captains to deliver memorable social and golfing events during their tenure.”
She sees the relationship between management and volunteer leadership as fundamental to sustaining a positive club experience for members.
“They’re the faces of the club, and it’s our job to ensure they have everything they need to create experiences that reflect and strengthen our positive community spirit.”
Receiving the Manager of the Year award marked a proud moment, not only professionally but personally. Chloe has spoken about the importance of resilience, hard work and belief in driving her career forward, values she hopes will resonate with others considering a future in the industry. Sharing that success with her nine-year-old son, Henry, was a particularly powerful symbol of what is possible.
“It’s been amazing to be part of the momentum and the wave of women coming through golf and really showing what they can do and what they can bring to the industry,” she said.
