Tidworth Garrison’s General Manager emerged victorious in the hotly contested Manager of the Year category.
Chloe Boissel-Marshall hopes her achievement in being named Manager of the Year at the GCMA Awards 2025 inspires others to work hard and demonstrate passion for what they do.
The Tidworth Garrison General Manager has had a transformative impact on the Wiltshire venue since arriving in late 2023. She has led a modernisation of the club’s operations while strengthening the culture and identity that underpin its century-long history.
Her approach, rooted in adaptability and a willingness to embrace new technologies, has helped shape a forward-looking model for club leadership.
Reflecting on her triumph after receiving the coveted honour in front of her peers at the Awards Gala Dinner at the De Vere Cotswold Water Park, Chloe felt her dedication to the role, allied to the future-ready mindset that underpinned the theme of the Golf Club Management Conference & Exhibition, were pivotal in her success.
“It’s really an honour,” she said. “It’s such a fantastic achievement at my age, amongst the industry, and I’m just really proud to be able to show that if you’ve got resilience, you put in enough hard work and enough passion, you can do anything you want to do.
“I think part of the reason [for winning the award] is being able to push the boundaries and not be afraid of change. Innovation feels quite new to the industry, but it’s a long time coming. Really embracing it has certainly helped me in making the changes happen, and we’ve been able to do that together.”
Asked for her advice for others who may wish to follow in her footsteps, Chloe said: “Be strong, be committed, stand by your beliefs and just work hard. You don’t need to be the cleverest person in the room — if you’re the one who works the hardest, you’re probably going to get what you want.”
She had spoken previously about what it would mean to win the award, and said being able to share the news with her son, nine-year-old Henry, would be the greatest privilege. Though he would have been sleeping as his mum graced the stage, he was certainly in her thoughts.
“I feel really proud as a mother to be able to say to him that it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from — if you put in enough work and you really want it, you can do anything you want to do,” she said.
It proved to be a memorable night for many of the female nominees, with women also prevailing in the Newcomer of the Year and Support Manager of the Year categories, a fact not lost on Chloe.
She concluded: “It’s been amazing to be part of the momentum and the wave of women coming through golf and really showing what they can do and what they can bring to the industry.”
