GCMA 2023 Conference: Teamwork expert Brendan Hall revealed as keynote speaker

The award-winning speaker Brendan Hall has been announced as a GCMA 2023 Conference keynote speaker, joining Owen Eastwood, Annette Andrews, Kevin Fish and Craig Haldane as headline presenters for the November event.

Brendan Hall is 1 of only 10 people in the world to lead the winning team in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race – an epic 10 month long, 40,000 mile ocean sailing race around the planet where the strongest teamwork always wins, making the award-winning speaker, author, coach and consultant the perfect presenter for the GCMA 2023 Conference, which is based on the theme of ‘Putting people at the centre of your purpose, vision and values’ and will take place from November 12-14 at Leonardo Hotel and Conference Venue Hinckley Island.

Although Brendan was the youngest and least experienced skipper in the race, his team won it in convincing fashion. They didn’t win because Brendan was the best sailor or strategist, but because he created the most engaged and empowered on-board culture, with a compelling vision, strong values and a continuous-improvement mindset.

Trusted to deliver inspiration and outcomes by some of the world’s most exceptional organisations, Brendan has spoken to PWC, Toyota, GSK, Nestle, Financial Times, Tesco & Lloyds Banking Group. He is also an adjunct lecturer at Ashridge Executive Education and Cranfield Business Schools.

Acting as a creative catalyst, Brendan unlocks the latent potential within teams, helping develop resilience, connection, collaboration and better leadership. A superb presenter and a natural storyteller, Brendan’s sessions are a mixture of psychology, teamwork & leadership practice, wrapped in an engrossing globe-spanning story that keeps his audience on the edge of their seat.

He is the author of Team Spirit: Life & Leadership on The World’s Toughest Yacht Race. Team Spirit has become a valuable resource for business leaders and has been featured in Economia, The Sunday Times and shortlisted for the prestigious Mountbatten Book Award.

Brendan joins a line up of keynote speakers, as well as presenters and facilitators of the many workshops and breakout sessions throughout the event, who will be providing you with know how, insights and inspiration on how to improve your leadership skills and capacity for generating, developing and maintaining a successful, healthy and sustainable model for team culture within your club.

It will give your teams, your members and the wider community a sense of value, a sense of pride and a sense of belonging.
