Applications for GCMA Mentees are now open. Here’s how you can take part… This is a unique opportunity – a chance to work with, and learn from, some of the very best in the golf industry. If you’re chosen for this new ground-breaking programme, you’ll develop key skills in leadership, communication, and decision making. The GCMA Mentors have been selected, now we are looking to find those who will gain the benefits of being guided by our accredited team. So we’re delighted to invite applications to become a GCMA Mentee. The role of a golf club manager is extremely rewarding, but it’s also challenging. You need sound operational and technical skills, you have a duty to work in a leadership capacity with many stakeholders and, for lots of you, your immediate employer changes every couple of years. And the role is always evolving, meaning your skills constantly need to develop in order to excel in your career. Our talented and committed GCMA Mentors have been through these challenges, and they know what it takes to achieve results. They also know they need to continue developing their knowledge themselves. They can help you become the very best version of yourself. If selected as a GCMA Mentee, you will receive: An exclusive invitation to the official GCMA Mentor Introduction Day, taking place on 4th May at Forest of Arden Hotel and Country Club. It will be a fantastic opportunity to meet your GCMA Mentor and your fellow mentees, as well as those behind the Mentor programme from the GCMA An Insights Discovery Profile for you to share with your Mentor to help you look at your strengths, development areas, and communication preferences and style Access to a trained and accredited GCMA Mentor with whom you will have six hours’ worth of one-to-one mentoring sessions at a time and venue (or on Zoom) to suit you both Invitations to two further GCMA Mentor events within a 12-month period, to network with fellow GCMA Mentees and take part in a series of group workshops and discussions on key industry topics and to further develop your leadership skills You can expect your GCMA Mentor to help you think through your options, to support you in terms of your confidence and commitment, and to challenge you to succeed. They’ll assist you in defining and refining your goals and will support you to achieve these. They’ll help you ask the right questions and find the right answers. They are not there to judge you but will ask you to commit to your own development journey – giving of their time because they want to give something back to the industry and to you.
