When you join the GCMA you receive access to tools to help you to excel professionally, a range of services to support your personal wellbeing, and you become part of a tight-knit community, with both local and national opportunities to network with your peers.

In this article, after an introduction to the association, we take a deeper look at how joining the GCMA offers a variety of personal development opportunities to help your career.

Who we are

The Golf Club Managers’ Association was formed in 1933: by golf club managers, for golf club managers.

We have a history and heritage of which we are proud, but we also have an exciting vision for developing and shaping the future of golf club management in the UK. Our members are at the heart of everything we do.

As the leading association for golf club management in the UK, we are committed to making a positive difference to golf, through supporting the professional and personal wellbeing of our members.

We recognise the importance of not only providing our members with technical guidance and advice, but also delivering a wide range of education and professional development opportunities AND supporting personal development and wellbeing.

Development

We’ll aim to help and support you to manage your own learning and growth throughout your career. Our Professional Development and Education products and services are designed to be varied in content and flexible in delivery to suit everyone’s needs, regardless of career profile and experience.

Our qualifications, the Principle of Golf Club Management, the Diploma in Golf Club Management, and the BA (Hons) Golf Club Management, delivered by Cornwall College, are industry leading.

But we offer so much more. Our ground-breaking GCMA Accreditation programme is designed to capture your skills, knowledge, experience and value to the industry through a flexible, inclusive, and rewarding pathway.

We hold progressive, and industry-specific education programmes, through our National Education Days, and residential and online education and development services.

Our dedicated online learning platform, GCMA SkillGate, includes more than 1,300 courses covering key topics of business management, finance, leadership and wellbeing.

The GCMA Inspire webinar series, alongside our online wellbeing and personal development toolkits and learning modules, focus on your personal development and wellbeing, while our Hot Topics and Know How series keep you up to date with industry trends and give you the information you need to be your very best self.

We’d love to welcome you as a member of our association and we look forward to supporting and working alongside you.
