Will you be playing at the GCMA National Golf Day?

Bristol & Clifton, the home of GCMA headquarters, will be the hosts and here's how you can get involved... Get August 5 in your diaries as Bristol & Clifton Golf Club play host to the association's 2021 National Golf Day. Fellow club managers from all over the country are expected to descend on the North Somerset course, which is also the home of the GCMA's national office, to meet old friends and make new ones. Competitors will play for the Greenshields Memorial Trophy, for the best gross score, and The Founders Cup, which will reward the best nett score. Managed by Neil Newman, Bristol & Clifton is described as "a beautifully mature and undulating parkland course" and a "varied and beguiling test for all golfers". A regular host of England Golf events, it measures 6,413 yards, with a par of 70, from the back tees and 5,786 yards (par 73) from the forward markers. The Covid pandemic prevented a gathering last year but the last event, held in June 2019 at Enville, saw North Downs GC's Ian Slater take the Greenshields Memorial Trophy, while John Cox won The Founders Cup. A major benefit of being part of the GCMA Community is having connections to people you can help or call on in times of challenge who, together, help us solve the myriad challenges that are presented to Golf Club Managers for resolution. Entry costs £52 and includes coffee and bacon/sausage roll on arrival, 18-hole medal round, prizes and a 2-course meal on completion (dietary options will be available).
