This year’s GCMA National Golf Day saw the beautiful Bristol & Clifton host the annual event on August 5, and it proved to be an exciting outing for all attendees...

Sam Poole swept the prizes at an excellently presented Bristol & Clifton for the GCMA National Golf Day. The Didsbury player refused to let some damp conditions get to him as he claimed both the Greenshields Memorial Trophy and the Foundation Cup. His gross 71 saw him clinch the former, ahead of the previous holder – North Downs Ian Slater – who came in with 74. Dave Smith, of Boyce Hill, was third with 78 and just beat Newport’s Reece Miller with a better back nine....
