Every year GCMA members take part in international matches between the home nations, but they also take place with our French (ADGF) and Swedish (GAF) counterparts. Fiercely fought, but in good spirit, the matches offer the chance for GCMA members of all golfing abilities to represent their countries - gain bragging rights for the next 12 months - and to network with contacts new and old while playing a number of superb courses. Whilst keenly contested selection is not limited solely to those from the lower handicap categories. Players are required to meet the cost themselves as these matches are not subsidised by the GCMA. If you are interested in being considered please contact John Edgington (2019) or Cameron Dawson (taking over in 2020). [email protected] Cameron says "I will aim to select England teams that will be competitive whilst enjoying the experience. As one of the objectives of these matches is to provide opportunities to network with other members priority is given to serving members but length of time with our community is also a major aspect of selection. It will always be hard to get this balance right but rest assured it will be our aim" Dates and Venues for International matches 2020 Sunday 10th - Monday 11th May, England v Ireland, Saunton GC Saunton is located on the beautiful unspoilt North Devon coast and boasts two superb 18 hole Championship links the East and the West both listed in the top 100 courses in England.
