Adam Bodimeade was among the delegates to benefit from the most recent Advanced Management Programme course on the vital subject of mental health.
The Advanced Management Certificate in Building Resilience & Managing Mental Health received a 99% satisfaction score, with the content and course leaders attracting glowing reviews.
Adam Bodimeade, General Manager at Hartley Wintney Golf Club, was among the delegates to attend and he heaped praise on the two-day course, which got a 100% satisfaction rating on day two.
Asked why he signed up for the course and what his impressions of it were, Adam said: “Following the challenges brought by COVID, and recognising the importance of wellness and mental health, this course felt like the ideal opportunity to better support both myself and my team.
“I thought the course was excellent, with great content that was well presented and thought-provoking. The main takeaway for me was the importance of improving my listening skills, resisting the urge to immediately solve the problem, and instead focusing on really hearing and understanding the other person. It’s definitely more challenging than it sounds!”
The course was led by expert trainers Debbie Kleiner and Charlotte Wiseman, who explored practical techniques and frameworks to enhance delegates’ approach to mental health management going forward.
Adam, who also cited the peer-to-peer learning and networking opportunities as a key benefit of attending, described himself as “very impressed” by the course leaders, adding: “Having such knowledgeable and experienced course leaders was excellent.”
He now plans to attend further courses, and encouraged his fellow GCMA members to do the same.
“Having now completed two Advanced Management Programme courses, I cannot recommend them highly enough,” he said. “I would definitely encourage my fellow GMs to give one a try.
“I believe that the Accreditation programme and Advanced Management Programme in particular are excellent and significantly enhance the value that the GCMA offers to its members.”
