Register for the 2022 GCMA National Golf Day

The Caversham - home of Reading Golf Club - will be the hosts on Thursday 28th July and here’s how you can get involved... Make sure you have Thursday 28th July marked on your calendar as The Caversham play host to the Association’s 2022 National Golf Day for the first time. Fellow club managers from all over the country are expected to congregate at the newly redesigned venue to meet old friends and make new ones. Competitors will play for the Greenshields Memorial Trophy, for the best gross score, and The Founders Cup, which will reward the best nett score. Managed by Gary Stangoe, the new home of Reading Golf Club has been designed by Canadian Tom McBroom to appeal to golfers of all abilities and ages. Last year saw Sam Poole sweep the prizes at an excellently presented Bristol & Clifton in the 2021 edition. The Didsbury player refused to let some damp conditions get to him as he claimed both the Greenshields Memorial Trophy and the Founders Cup. His gross 71 saw him clinch the former, ahead of the previous holder – North Downs Ian Slater – who came in with 74. This is a great chance for managers to get together and expand their network in a relaxed environment. Open to all GCMA members, entry costs £29.50 and includes coffee and bacon roll on arrival, 18-hole white/red tee qualifying medal round and a two-course meal on completion.
