A series of free-to-attend sessions put on by the GCMA, England Golf and BIGGA provided insights on utilising data and innovation.
We were delighted to hit the road again with our colleagues from England Golf and BIGGA to deliver five workshops looking into the breadth of data available to golf clubs.
The interactive and insightful sessions discussed how the wealth of information at a golf club’s disposal can be leveraged to help them make informed decision and build a plan for the future that is impactful, sustainable and deliverable.
The roadshow followed on from the governance workshops held across the country in February 2024, with the latest series of dates proving just as successful.
The speakers
- England Golf – Matt Draper (Development & Membership Director), Matt Bloor (Volunteer & Workforce Manager) and Gavin Anderson (Club, County & Membership Operations Manager)
- The Activation Project – Phil Davis, Simon Gardner & Nick Fawcett (Directors)
- GCMA – Tom Brooke (CEO)
- BIGGA – Jim Croxton (CEO)
“We thoroughly enjoyed being involved in this series of excellent events working with our friends and colleagues at England Golf and BIGGA,” said GCMA CEO Tom Brooke. “Our members are regularly looking for more opportunities to bring themselves as golf club managers along with club officials together to focus on key topics of governance and strategic planning.
“The interaction at each of the events was excellent to see and I hope that everyone who attended will have something to take back to their clubs and help to leverage some positive long-term change. It was also a great opportunity for us at the GCMA to present and share our findings from the recent golf workforce survey.
“I hope that our presentation will encourage all the club officials in attendance to give more thought to providing their employed workforce with career progression opportunities, invest in professional development and consider how to better involve their teams in the direction and vision of their clubs.
“Thank you once again to our colleagues at England Golf for hosting this excellent series of events and for inviting us at the GCMA to attend and to be involved.”
