The search for the UK’s most inspiring, innovative and dedicated golf club management professionals is officially on.
Nominations are now open for the 2025 GCMA Awards, and we’re calling on everyone in the industry to get involved. Whether you’re a club member, director, team colleague, regional manager, or part of GCMA HQ – your nomination could make all the difference.
Each year, these awards celebrate the people and teams who go above and beyond in shaping the success of golf clubs across the country. But some categories—particularly those recognising newcomers and support managers—have historically received fewer nominations than they deserve. That’s why we need your help to spotlight the future stars and unsung heroes of the industry.
How to Nominate
It couldn’t be easier. Just send an email to [email protected] including:
- A short 2–3 sentence summary explaining why they deserve to win
- The name and club of the person or team you’re nominating
- The award category
That’s it. A small gesture from you could result in a huge recognition for someone who truly deserves it.
Award Categories
🏆 Lifetime Achievement Award
Recognising an exceptional career as a Golf Club Manager. This award celebrates dedication and consistent excellence in the day-to-day role of managing a club – not wider industry contributions.
🌟 Outstanding Contribution Award
For those who have gone above and beyond their club duties to make a significant impact across the industry – through GCMA involvement, governing bodies, or other leadership roles in golf.
👤 Manager of the Year
Honouring a General Manager who has demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation and results between September 2023 and the present day.
🤝 Team of the Year
Celebrating a club management team (including GMs and department heads) that has achieved great things together over the past year.
🌱 Newcomer of the Year
Recognising fresh talent – new General Managers who started their role on or after 1st September 2023. There’s no minimum length of service required.
🙌 Support Manager of the Year
For department heads, assistant or deputy managers who’ve made a major impact.
What Happens Next?
Once nominated, all candidates (except for Lifetime Achievement and Outstanding Contribution) will be contacted and invited to submit a detailed account of their work across six key performance areas.
An expert judging panel will assess each submission. The top three scorers in each category will be shortlisted as finalists, and invited to a second-stage interview.
Finalists’ interview scores will be combined with their written submission results, and the winners will be revealed at the Gala Dinner during the Golf Club Management Conference & Exhibition on 17th November 2025 at Cotswold Water Park, Wiltshire.
